It's been a few years since I've posted here, but it's nice the site is still around and kicking.

Anyhoo, after all these years I've been given a reason to purchase an 8-string. It took awhile, but I think I'm pretty happy with this guitar. The only thing I'm disappointed with is the Jobata fretboard. The ebay listing from music123 didn't mention the fretboard material, but their pictures made it as it if were the rosewood version. Oh well, I think condition it and see if it gets a little darker without the need of doing any special dye.

Anyways, onto the pics!

Wicked guitar dude! And ya I agree about the fretboard - looks pale as fuck! If you're not happy with how it looks after oiling it, just grab an ebony colored wood stain marker to darken it up.

People love black ebony and light maple boards. I say embrace the in between!

Cool guitar, I love these and would have one if I could justify it. Congrats!!

Put the guitar out in the sun for a while. Jatoba darkens a lot when exposed to sunlight and turns into a deep red-ish brown that looks way better than rather fresh wood. Afterwards you can still stain it if it's not dark enough for your taste :)

Looks fine to me with that fretboard, and I hate you for having one and me not having one. (I kid, I kid.)

I absolutely love this design, and if I ever get another 8 string, this would be the one. It's like a firebird and an iceman made sweet sweet love, and this thing popped out. I've wanted one since before they went into production, and seeing people get them makes me envious. Maybe some day.

You could dye the fretboard a dark red :) I think that would look badass

Nice 8 string, Meshuggah are pleased. We need more Iceman and generally non strat models from Ibanez.
