This is my first new guitar post in the forum...about the first seven string I've acquired!

I was introduced the Turbulence design back in 2009 when a friend purchased the original 36 fret version...I was completely enamored with these things ever since.

I had been considering purchasing one for myself for a while, but when I actually looked into it, GKG was sold out of all Turbulence models! :wallbash:

I decided to commit to getting a seven string at the beginning of this month, and a few weeks ago I was on the verge of buying a Jeff Loomis model when the Turbulence magically popped up on eBay.

It looked to be in great shape, was signed by luthier Leo Scala, and had a price of $800 shipped! So I couldn't resist.

Some general specs: 7 string, 29 frets, mahogany body, maple 5 ply neck, Original Floyd Rose trem, coil tap for both humbuckers...You can find all the specs at: Gary Kramer Guitar - Turbulence 729-R "Violex"

After playing on it for a few hours, I'm totally stoked on this guitar. It's a perfect mix of unique design and ergonomic comfortability...

7 strings....... yeah!

Also...I'd like to thank my credit card for making this purchase possible.

Congratulations! I've got a 729R Violex and a F-1 36 TOM (the model before they were called Turbulence). I should really sell one of them, since I don't play 7s much these days, but it's a great shape.

And whoever strung that guitar should be shot.

Huh. I didn't know those were made in South Korea.

Assuming that's what the headstock says, that is. it's a little hard to read through the wax paper you seem to have attached to your camera lens .

Yo Zach, I'm finishing tracking for the Horde record today, but the Turbulence won't be used for that.

But, I'm working on some new death metal stuff, and the Turbulence will definitely be used for that project.

Oh shit, I didn't realize you were the new guy from the Horde. I'm in Korea now, but I'm actually from Galesburg and have caught you guys live there several times. Huh. Small world.
