My new RG8. I've owned a few 7s in the past but sold them off and used only 6strings over the last two years. I was actually looking for a cheap 7string axe but I got a good deal on this one and went for it. The store also had a Jackson js32-8 dinky. I played both and chose this one. Feels good so far. Planning to change the bridge pickup. Any suggestions on string gauges & pickup replacement are welcome.

Kalium 9-80 are a pretty perfect set, as far as strings go.
Regarding pickups, I would probably grab some active sized Duncan Nazgul/sentient or Black winters. If you decide to go EMG’s, I would go 85-8X, with a 60-8X in the neck. A lot of people really like the 57/66 pups, but they’re pretty underwhelming IMO.
