Got this on Friday. I haven't fully put it through its paces yet. And it still needs the action tweaked a little bit. But so far I LOVE it! It looks amazing! And it sounds just as good! I really feel that Rob is continually improving. I have a couple of KxKs from 4-5 years back that have been my main players since I got them. And while I can't find anything wrong with them, these last two have just seemed to be even better. Maybe it's just because of how beautiful they are. Or maybe it's because they both have KxK made pickups. Either way, I am happy.

I've got this tuned down 1 1/2 steps Ab-Db low to high. And despite the 25.5" scale it sounds really good. It's a little looser than my 27 inchers, but still better than I have been able to get on most other 25.5" guitars. I'm loving the pickups. They are much lower output than what I've been using the last few years and really do sound great for just about everything. I ran this through my Herbert at volume and I  it!

Specs:
25.5" scale
Figured mahogany neck/body with bubinga stringers
Figured Bubinga top with matching headstock
Pale Moon Ebony fretboard/trussrod cover/KxK logo/pickup tops
KxK pickups wound similar to the BKP Emerald
Push/pull coil split on the tone knob
Clear gloss with oiled neck

That is one classy looking axe! How does the pale moon ebony feel? Is there any grain in it? Are the pickup tops wood or plastic?

The OP says the pickup bobbins are the same wood as the fretboard / truss cover

Thanks guys!

It feels pretty much like ebony. If you're asking whether or not I can feel the transition between the black and white grain, then no. All the PME pieces were cut from the same board:yesway:

Wow, if we're running out of ebony then I think I can live with it if it means we're gonna start getting ebony boards that look anywhere near as beautiful as that, wow.

Another name for PME is "Asian black and white ebony". I think. So I'd say planet Asia
