The unthinkable has happened! I caved and bought a Gibson Les Paul Classic Lemon Burst. Boy does this thing have balls! The great thing about buying a Gibson is that there are so many dealers out there. It was surprising how different each individual guitar felt even if they were the same yea and model. I searched far and wide and ended up with this bad boy. Sadly I got rid of my last Jackson (DK-1),but times have changed. I'm a fixed bridge kind of guy now. The fit and finish on this is great. Completely different beast compared to my KxK and Tom Anderson, but holds it's own in the group well. I feel like the planets aligned for this one.

On to the pics!

Looks great. Only things I don't like are the lack of fret end nibs and the mini toggle. I have the same pickups in my Trad Pro II and IMO they are fantastic.

That top is amazing. I would love to get my hands on something like that. I love my LACS Ibanez but I need to get something with a crazy top.

Nice! Where did you get that one? I saw a couple on Sweetwater's website that looked pretty damn nice.

I actually got it from Russo Music in Hamilton NJ. They also have a bigger store in Asbury Park NJ.

Ah yea I tried a couple Trad Pro IIs. I just couldn't get myself to buy any of them because every one I picked up off the wall at GC had dents and dings in it. So I eneded up shopping elsewhere. The locking tuners for me are a big plus for the Trad Pro. Other than that they seemed pretty similar.

Yeah they are very similar guitars. Really the main differences are the mini toggle vs push push pots, binding nibs and the inlay on the classic. I had to have guitar center order a couple and I played like 5 in the store before I found one that had no flaws.

That is very nice. I kick myself for being so shallow towards Les Pauls for so long. When I finally gave in, it was so much more inspirational than I ever imagined.

Is the Mini toggle a boost switch similar to the on on the SG Futura (I noticed the battery door on the back) or is that for coil tapping?

Very, very nice top. That is one thing that Gibson just about always gets right, stellar looking tops.

Hey Fortisursus, first of all HNGD! :D Being a Les Paul fan I'm wondering, how does the classic feel? Friend of mine tried one and was super-excited about the boost and the pickups, according to him 100 times better than the one that you can find nowadays on the 2014 Standard or so.

What about the split coils? I want oneeeeeee :wallbash:
