ok, so i have been parousing the forum for awhile, after i'd first become interested in owning a seven. i posted one of my 6's up for trade, and before long, i got a trade from oscillat0r for his jackson DR7. just got it toady, and wow...this thing is slick! the neck reminds me of and ibanez RG7 and it's quite slim and comfy. the invader in the bridge sounds very tight and punchy. esp, through my triple recto....gotta get it retubed though to get the full effect, can't wait, anyways....here's the obligatory pics, poor quality as it is dark now and i can't really get any good lighting...more pics soon outside!
thanks again to oscillat0r for the trade! he's a great fellow!

Being an Ibanez man, i have to say that it looks pretty awesom, for non-ibanez :D

thanks for the comments guys...and yeah i'm gonna change the strings today...the action is actually kinda low...some buzz, but not when amplified...i'm actually surprised at how slim the neck is...i wasn't expecting it to feel like a wizard...but it kinda does =)

oh, and the invader is pretty sick! whoever wired it up made the middle position sound like a single coil, must have used to coil split or something, i'm very impressed, just gotta do a setup. he sent another invader and the original bridge pup, so i could do a 'double-invader' config if i wanted...idk how that would sound though...anyone ever put an invader in the neck?

I just got one of those myself, and it looks like it's gonna take the #1 spot from my Schecter. The Schecter is FAR nicer, but the Jackson is FAR more comfy.

Could you do me a little favor and take a few pics of the control cavity? I'm interested in seeing how it was wired to get a single coil type tone in the middle position. Or if you could figure it out and just explain it that'd be cool too.

i'll try and get a picture up...oscillat0r was the one who did the pickup change, i think, so he'd probably know more. i looked inside the cavity cause the bridge pickup has a bit of scratchiness, i'm pondering getting it re-wired with both invaders that her sent my anyway, but sure i'll try and post a pic

different view, hopefully this helps

and finally....well idk if these are the proper angles and the right view of the pots and shit, yell if ya want more pics, of specific angles. personally, i'm not a whiz at electronics so i coulnd't tell ya what's soldered to what. to me it all looks ok, save for the tape and the one solder joint that looks like it could use some touching up. idk if i'm gonna have someone re-wire it with the other pickup, again, i'm not sure if i'll like it yet. hope these pics help.

EDIT:
to budda and all southern ontario residents:
i'll be going away to university in st.catherine's at Brock university next year and i was kinda wondering how many fourmites are located around there, cause i'd ideally like to get some folks to jam with, maybe start a metal band of some sort. thanks guys, cheers!
