Well Music 49 strikes again! Jason put together a sweet wood library run of fade finishes (and you guys know I'm a major sucker for the fades and dragon's breath finishes!) recently and as soon as he sent me the pics I was a goner! The addition of the Brazilian Rosewood for the fretboard was a very nice touch as the stuff PRS has been holding back while they got the CITES stuff squared away is VERY tasty, super tight grain and most of it is very dark as well. Specs are as follows:

Music 49 Dirty Baker's Dozen Wood Library Run:

Model: Custom 24
Neck wood: Maple (in my case, figured maple!)
Fretboard wood: Brazilian Rosewood
Top wood: Eastern Flamed maple
Back wood: Mahogany
Neck Carve: Pattern Thin
Side Dots: Ivory
Color / Stain: Armando's Amethyst Fade
Fretboard inlays: Black Onyx outlines and paua abalone centers
Finish type: V12
Pickups: Treble: Uncovered 57/08 Bass: Covered 59/09
Electronics: McCarty Electronics
Hardware: Hybrid hardware PRS tremolo and Phase III locking tuning pegs
Set-Up: D’Addario .010's
Case type: Custom PRS Paisley Case
Specials: Armando's Fade finish, Brazilian Rosewood fretboard, custom birds inlays, custom case, custom pickup config

Tonally, it's a Custom 24 with a killer pickup set, so no real surprises other than it sounding better than most CU24's I've played before. :D In most guitars I prefer the 3-way toggle but since I've been getting used to having a lot of guitars with more coil splitting options, I may actually put a PRS 5-way rotary switch into this one! The satin finish PRS has been using on their maple necks in the last few years is a winner, feels amazing!!! Brazilian Rosewood like this is great because it sounds like rosewood should but the feel is a little closer to ebony, very smooth on bends. The only thing that's a little off for me is the Pattern Thin carve, it's a little thinner than the neck on my 408 which makes some positions or bends a little uncomfortable as it puts pressure on certain joints that isn't great for me since I still have some joint issues I'm dealing with. Other than that, this thing is a total home run! The small part of the top that isn't "perfect" looks really neat in person, you can actually see it a bit in some of the pictures but it has that weird chatoyance going on. :yesway: You can see what I'm talking about in these shots:

Yep, that's awesome :D Good to see some better pics of it too, Music49s left something to be desired  Figure on the neck is definitely much better than it looked in their pics too.

I'll get some pics of Blue up when I have internet back... should have grabbed this one too

Oh my.................... That's just stunning. Even afraid to ask how much it costs, so I'm not asking :) Congratulations on the great axe!

Do you expect to record any sound clips with it?

Matt that is just SO stunning. The 4th and 5th pictures in the first post are my favorite out of the set, they show that transition of the fade beautifully! I would definitely love to own one of these eventually, and try one with the 59/08 Pickup Set preferably.

Would definitely also like to hear sound clips of the pickup config and that bridge pickup which I'm not familiar with. HNGD dude!

Wow dude, that is absolutely amazing. You're starting to take me back to the 90's, and wanting to get back on my PRS kick.

That is an fantastic guitar man, congrats!
