Long time since I got me the last guitar I owned, a Skervesen Raptor 8. Now, three years later I'm a different person as many might be after the pandemics, being a father, and a lot of other circumstances. I still have a band where I play my 8 string but I'm a bit tired of everything and I didn't own a proper sixer, I always wanted to have a Prestige and my dislike for floating bridges and complications in tuning and intonation is growing non-stop, so this RG652 ticked all the boxes save one... I would have LOVED this same guitar with 26,5 scale. Aaaand when the guitar came to my hands I realized it was not "Swamp Ash" but "plain Ash" and that adds a lot of weight to it I wasn't expecting. Anyway, the guitar is very well done, beautiful (I expected a more "figured" birdseye maple fretboard as my skervesen is full of those eyes, and there are only a few in the ibanez but whatever), comfy and the pickups, which I though might be a problem at the begininng, I'm also enjoying. That popular combo Air Norton - Tone Zone makes the guitar a very versatile instrument, which is what I was looking for, something with a presence not overwhelmingly modern or tight or anything that is so sought after these days. Anyways, I plan to tune it down to drop C in the future and I've read I may not like the tone in that case, we'll see, but for the standard tuning, the pickups are tight enough and veeery muscial sounding, as Dimarzio use to be. No more bullshit, enter the pictures:

Stunning. Congrats for the purchase. And glad to see you again here!
Hey! Long time no see! yeah, my internet interests are somewhere else nowadays and my time is scarcer, but sevenstring.org still my reference for everything guitarwise and a bit of feeling strange if not doing a NGD even if not participating extensively anymore. Hope everything is all right around! Cheers

Everything´s fine, but I keep on lurker mode rather than posting nowadays, but yes, this is still my main site regarding gear and guitars.
Cheers.

Gorgeous! The purple finish really works. Probably looks even better in person. Also, glad you’re giving the AN/TZ a fair shake. Musical is a good way to sum up the TZ IMO.

I did change them though that wasn't the plan originally. I liked the Dimarzios, but I had a set of BKP Juggernauts that I put in it. The juggs were intended for another guitar, but I ended up putting them into the Ibby and moved the Dimarzios into the other guitar.

Nice, I have Juggs in other two guitars so that's not an option for me, although I love them, I prefer diversity in my axes, if I ever change them, that'll be for another set of dimarzios (that I also like) or SD. But anyway, out of curiosity, how do you like the juggs in your Ibanez? I guess it's great as a light oriented tone guitar, right?

I love the juggs in this guitar. It is setup in drop C# now, but was initially in drop B tuning. It is very much my main guitar at the moment.

Juggs are (imo) the best pickups out there, yesterday night after a while playing my new guitar with dimarzios I picked up my skervesen with Juggs and was blown away for the huge difference in clarity, THE CLARITY! Maybe I had a few more beers than I should have, I'll try the experience again tonight in case the difference is not as big as I felt, I might be biased as I only played bareknuckles for a long time now

Anyway, I don't want to have the same pups in all my guitars and with the price rise I promised myself not to go to BKp again, but I might be considering something different for the future.
