So this one has been a long one for me. I ordered it back in April after my shop became dealers for Ibanez for two reasons; A, because of the sweet price I could get it at as an employee and B, as incentive to quit smoking cigarettes by sinking the money I would have spent on packs into an awesome new guitar for myself. Also I'm a sucker for anything that looks like a coffee table with strings on it, and the specs were just the type of thing i was looking for. Sold my 7420 as a deposit and we got on our way
Not a day after ordering it, our account contact tells me its going to be a two month backorder. Not too shabby, I'm not one to need something immediately so I strapped in for the long haul. end of June came up and I was getting antsy. I asked him to contact Ibanez again on an ETA. This time, it was two more months backordered. Dissappointed, but what am I to do but wait at this point.
So finally on Tuesday morning while I'm canoeing with my girlfriend on my day off, our shipping guy texts me this
I end said canoe trip as soon as I can possibly manage to and bolt down to the store to grab it.
So I'll shut up and here's pictures
The guitar is the real deal. The neck is unlike any sort of 7 neck I've ever played on. It's smooth and such an easy ride, doesn't feel cheap whatsoever. The Dimarzio PAF 7's are exactly the kind of tone change I needed from the high output. The Limba top is very thin, but it blends with the basswood very well and really makes the guitar a looker. For taking a jump on a guitar I had never played before, I am very happy with the outcome!
