So I got my Hybrid C-8 in the mail today!
Buying this guitar was kind of a guess since there are almost no videos or reviews about this model on the internet.
Well, not completely a guess because I own a few other Schecters and the quality has always been amazing!
This thing looks amazing with the quilted maple top, the ebony fretboard and the carbon fibre binding.
The feel is very good thanks to the SLS neck profile (which is very nice) and the satin neck. Gotta love how they made that design flow on the back of the guitar.
The sound of the guitar itself is very lively and resonant.
Usually when I get a new guitar the first thing I do is put new strings on it but in this case they sound pretty good so I'll keep them on for a while.
The pickups are another strong-suit of this guitar.
They obviously remind me of 'classic' 808's but they are way more dynamic and have a more natural frequency response.
The bridge pick-up works very well for riffs while the neck pick-up works great for leads and clean parts etc.
Schecter chose the 28' very wisely because this guitar handles drop-e without a problem, while with some of my older 27' necks that just wasn't possible.
It will be interesting to see how well this guitar handles my standard 8-string Elixir set (with a low .75 bass string).
Overall AMAZING guitar and probably the best 8-string I've owned and I've owned quite a few.
If you have any questions just drop them here.
