No, I don't think you're crazy. Actually I think, that it's kinda in between "normal" matte laquer and glossy laquer. It feels and looks good, but more "solid" ... in a good way

the pics Ive seen of these guitars in general, seem to have a bit of a "waxy" clear coat. either way its cool as all hell

It's so bad that I'm thinking about never to use commas again - I think in my case that's better. I seem to be kind of addicted to commas *haha*
