I was finally able to score one of these, been on the hunt forever :hbang:

Since this is such a unique and futuristic instrument I'm going to do my NGD post a little differently this time. I'll be looking at it from the usual point of view of a guitarist but I will also look at it from an engineering viewpoint.

As a guitarist this instrument seemed very strange and kind of ugly upon my first viewing. I had no idea what the purpose of the body shape was or why the hardware was so goofy. After letting it sink in for a while I came to realize that everything was done with purpose on these guitars and knew I had to get my hands on one, even if just to give it a try. I was not disappointed at all, quite the opposite in fact. The body shape is incredibly ergonomic, the instrument is very light, and everything on this guitar is comfortable. The ash body could have been better, but this is an S7G build so you can't expect too much. Thankfully the birdseye maple board has some good figuring and the walnut top is just gorgeous.

As an engineer this guitar is pure porn, especially when compared to traditional guitars. Every specification has a reason behind it. The headless design, neck profile, fan frets, hardware, pickups, body shape, side dots, everything is very well thought out. My only two gripes from this viewpoint are the tuning system and the neck heel. The tuners can be very difficult to turn when the string is under tension and the heel is very large and bulky.

I'm now living in Madison WI so if someone would like to try this guitar out let me know. We could meet at the Guitar Center or the guitar shop on the north side.

Anyways, here's what you really came for. The Pr0n!

Wow, thats a helluva top!

Looks like you may have got one of the good S7's, I don't see any blatant flaws, and thers no grooves all over the back of the neck. nice score!

At first glance Strictly 7 have done an absolutely fantastic job there, congratulations on the guitar!

Is this one you had on order originally with strictly 7 or is this one of the extra ones Jim put together from some of the extra parts he had?(I think that was what was going on?) Either way it looks pretty nice from what I can see in the pictures.:yesway:

is it just the angle you took those pics at, or are the pickup polepieces actually misaligned with the strings ?

NGD anyway :)

I got this used on the Facebook Guitar Porn Gear Exchange, not directly from S7. I don't think he's actually getting anything good done anymore but may be wrong.

NGD anyway :)

They are misaligned, doesn't seem to affect the sound in any way though. I was actually very pleasantly surprised with these. I like them better than any BKP I've tried so far, they're very dynamic and clear.

I don't understand all the talk about Strictly 7 in this thread.. And of course the pole pieces are going to be out of alignment, seeing how they aren't 90 degrees with the strings.

Congratulations, that's a nice top.

By the way, did you get an explanation as to why the ".strandberg*" brand was not carved into the top as usual? (I'm guessing this is an early production prototype)

Beautiful guitar I was wondering how those pole pieces would work out when I seen this on facebook. I bet it plays as well as it looks.

Never did, I assume it was a very early model.

Whats the model of duncans in that beast? HNGD!!

Pegasus and sentient

It's just incredible, I don't play my skervesen anymore. And that thing is also incredibly shredable.
