The guitar is great, I had it set up recently by a pro and had him add fret markers on the side of the fretboard (it came with no markers at all). The neck is rather thick and wide, but it feels nice for the style of music this guitar is intended for.

When the BKP C-Pig goes in, I'm having the electronics all replaced w/ 500k CTS pots, with a coil split on the Pig. Nick (zimbloth) recommended this pickup after a long phone discussion w/ me. He says because the woods are very bright, the low mid growl and tightness of the Pig should compliment it for rhythm playing. I was a bit unsure of putting such a hot pickup in this guitar, but I've since found some clean clips of the C-Pig on the BKP forum, and I'm really excited to experience its versatility. This is getting installed early this next week. I recorded a couple riffs w/ the old bridge, and will record the same ones on the same settings after installation.

I'll be updating soon!

Sweet. I'd love to have a 7-string archtop like that and bust out some Killing Joke tunes.

I'm loving all the details on your guitar. Like the binding on the flame maple on the sides!

Warpig would have been my last guess tbh, and Im eager to hear the results. I tried the Benedetto B-7 once, and i fell in love with it, Im sure if I ever have a hollow 7 string, Ill be throwing those in in a heartbeat.

Congrats, nice guitar. I was actually really surprised by the Alnico Warpigs I had in an alder 6 a while ago, they cleaned up great and sounded fantastic clean.

A warpig in an archtop? Interesting.

I personally prefer not to have markers, myself.

He had side dots added... I like blank boards myself, but I think a guitar with no side dots would drive me nuts

Very nice axe and p'ups man, and is that a Palamino V32 Combo off in the background?

I had a V32 head for a while, still up there for my favorite clean and low gain crunch in one amp.

Congrats!

Thanks for all the comments! It's been ages since I checked this thread, I'll address some of the questions above.

@ Dnoel86 - Yep, Q-tuner is going in here! I'm also trying to get a new 7 built, so I'll have to see which guitar it sounds better in.

@ 777 - I didn't order the neck like that, and it was quite an adjustment to get accustomed to the extra width, but I kinda dig it now. Granted, I don't really play fast riffs on this guitar much...

@ scherzo1928 - The Pig sounded pretty good, and it was very apparent how good a pickup it is, but it turned out to be a bit overkill for this guitar. Additionally, the finish on the guitar is fairly thick, and I think that it keeps the guitar from being as bright as you would think, considering the design and woods used. The C-Pig is up for trades here

I looked long and hard at a Benedetto for the neck, but the Q-tuner just wouldn't get out of my mind!

@ Mordacain - Yaaaa that's my Palamino! I love that thing for the cleans, and the crunch is great. While it's not the absolute best on the crunch channel, for the value (I paid <$300), I'm not complaining! And I have a Blackstar HT pedal that I use to really get some grind going, it sounds amazing in front of the clean channel.

Again, thanks for all the compliments on the guitar!
