I know its not an awesome handwound NPD, but hey its still pretty bad ass. I cant believe how much better this thing sounds! The EMG 808 will get the job done good enough if need be, but this pickup should be a no brainer.

Hahha, the re-appearing knife made my day.

Next time I perform a pickup swap I'll make sure to have at least 4 Becks under my belt.

Wait, is it that simple to change from EMG to SD Blackout pickups? No soldering, just fixing the wiring?!

If so, would it be just as easily to change a passive pickup on an Agile? For example the Cepheus pickup for a BKP Painkiller? :spock:

Sorry if it is a noobish question, but i have little to no knowledge when it comes to electronics in guitars :)

Btw, congrats on an awesome guitar! :metal:

It just that simple for the EMG to Blackouts or vice versa. Since the Blackouts are active pickups they used the quick connect wire EMG uses, just as they also used the same pickup housing size on the phase 2s. So yes its as simple as unplugging, then plugging in the new one. I may go back later and add the tone knob to the guitar which will take drilling a hole and a bit of wiring though. When it comes to the passives you would have to do some soldering in the electronics cavity. Thanks though. Ive had the guitar for some time and played the hell out of it and love it. I was actually not even going to bother replacing the pickup as I have Agile 8s with passives coming but while I was ordering strings and straplocks in preperation for them I was $8 short of free shipping.............so I ordered a $105 pickup to make it free LOL

I may be wrong, but im to assume it was only the Phase 2 blackouts that use the quick connect wire.

i really want to try the blackouts... i actually like the emg 81 for certain things, so the blackouts (or dimarzio d activators maybe?) sound nice...

I wouldnt have minded the 808 as much if it sounded like other emgs. I know people said the blackouts sounded like passives but I thought mabey it was an exageration. It kinda reminds me alot of the Invader thats in my Les Paul 7.

nice dude, looks great. post some sound clips nao!!! :scream:

I will see what I can do. I havent gotten far into recording through my soundport, and the amp I use for home use (Flextone II) isnt the best amp to use for an example. I will see what I can do though.
