Actually, my generic SS power amp sounds surprisingly good. I got it from Thomann a year ago, for something like 99€ 
it's 2x200w 4ohms or 2x120w 8 ohms.
Finding a Quad-X over here was a matter of luck so I don't expect to find a Carvin PA any time soon...
As for clips something could be arranged as I happen to have a Seinheiser e906
