i re-recorded every riff to to the song, and TWEAKED MY BASS TO HELL AND BACK so it had better be audible now.

AUDIBLE BASSSSSSS D:

i mixed it to a lower quality, but it should still sound pretty good, enough to critique the new mix.

oh, and make sure you're wearing your helmets, kids, there's new rifs. and i think they sound pretty heavy. like bricks.

also, if anyone wanted to play along ( I recieved a PM from a user who was interested so i figured why not share it)

i put out just the drums (and reverse cymbal and sub-drop)

those with sensitive speakers be careful, i made the sub drop fucking RIDICULOUS.

critiques on the new riffs/mix would be great, overall, I'm happy how it came out.

note there's no compression or ANYTHING on this mix. just what i put in with the levels balanced.

Boy, that sub drop nearly killed me

Noice riffs, and I like the guitar tones - maybe just make it a little more present?

there is noticeable crackling.clipping around the 15-16 second mark. other than that is sounds alright.

EDIT

its that subdrop dude. its clips to hell and back with those bass kicks. you gotta turn that shit down.

yessir, S2.0 with metal foundry ( The MF in the title, lol)

and i think I can bring up the presence a smidge, i was worried about them sticking out too far ahead of the kick

thanks tommy!

@ ED, it's the subdrop.

I accidentally ( on purpose) made it way too loud

Bass drop was ridiculously man. Haha

The drums lack the roominess that I prefer.

well, i actually add room to the entire mix in the mastering process, dry drums are just easier to mix IMHO. the extra carry from the cymbals affects how i percieve a lot of it.

noice job here Tre. The mix is pretty good to my ears, and your bass is a lot more even. What I recommend though is to make a second bass track, cut some lows and raise the highs and the high mids, add a tad of gain if you want, and then youll have some definition to your notes, as the bass doesnt have that definition. Everything else sounds pretty good besides that broski! keep it up Tre :hbang:

I'm using this shitty hohner (steinberger) 5 string with this terribly shitty pickup set.

funny thing is it sounds better dry than on the amps which is WEIRD.

anyway, I think I'm on to something with these, so you'll like it.

and i had the highs boosted but i don't like it, it rings too gfar south of the guitars and ends up sounding displeasing, so i made the bass creamy.

Sir, I do believe he said MOAR.

Seriously though, it does sound a little bit hollow...what's your setup?
