Now, this is gonna be fun. I ordered this "CB" (whatever that is) Strat ripoff on EBay, $60 or $70 all told with gig bad, strap, whatever. Main purposes? Experimenting with mods and having a 6-string guitar tuned in standard to use when teaching lessons. I'm about to go meet All_¥our_Bass at our local Guitar Center to grab some straplocks, and we'll be back here to begin the carnage. First order of business is stripping the paint and doing a natural/wood stain finish. Wish us luck.

*laughs* Accidentally posted before adding pics. I'll copy them here and delete the duplicate.

Hell yeah ^.^ I'm working on some pointers I got from a thread on TalkBass . . .

Technical difficulties! I'll get the hang of this image-posting thing soon enough :flex:
I'm in the middle of sanding, and will go back to it shortly, here're pics of the sanding process:

Most recent pic of guitar, still sanding:

Slept most of the day and went off to practice, or I'd have gotten much farther. The grain actually looks decent, which is reassuring.
I'm gonna go grab the sandpaper and get back to it now.

Nice score and nicely done on refinishing. Can't wait to see it when it's finished. :hbang:

Aww, I'm glad everyone likes it! I think the grain is pretty sweet, glad I decided to uncover it. I'll get some more sanding done once I put on some clothes and hit the porch. ^.^
Oh: a random note: I learned last night that our drummer AJS' first kit (he plays for Velnias with me and does session for Wedard, Fjellelv and whatnot and has another project called Twilight Congregation) was a CB kit. One of my students, meanwhile, deemed CB the abbreviation for "Cheap Bastard." *chuckles*

Couple new pics, off sanding on the porch. I wiped the body down with a damp cloth before these pics.

Yeah. The neck's off now, and the pickguard is only on to hold the electronics in place . . . I was sanding the back when I took that pic. Still sanding, since I've been moving at the pace I call "lazy as hell." I've got most of the back sanded, and am clearing up the patches of silver bit by bit. I'd post random additional pics, but the camera is in need of battery powa'.
