The blades in these pickups took forever to get right. After a while I figured out that they fit so tight that the rough sanding edge was making them impossible to get out of the bobbin. So I buffed the edges of the blades and they slide right out...
Here is what they will look like in the body.

Frets are in... Multiscales use more fretwire than a normal 7 (for obvious reasons).

Almost there. I think I spent another 45 minutes fine tuning the profile after these photos.

Trim the tenon and a mock up before setting the neck. Since this guitar is going to be black I will spend some time sanding and dying the body before gluing the neck in.

Jack placement is wonderful, really looking forward to seeing it in action.

Hmmm? That is too wide to be a six string pickup....

Must be a 7 string Blade Humbucker on a single coil plate!

Mummified after the neck set. Stray epoxy is a pain to get out of a guitar.

Tape removed and started cleaning up the glue left over and getting the nut ready.

Here we have a set of the new 8 string blades I am developing. They have a 1/8" blade, bobbins are going to be ABS, Magnets will be either A5, A8, C8. There is no metal in the pickups other than the blades and the wire so there are no strange eddy currents.
Wooden bobbins are so fragile. While I can do them I think they are going to be a custom option only from now on.

Using a chop saw for the blades is never as fun as it seems. I build special clamps to hold the flat bar.

These are starting to look like a blade set...
