I thought the demo was quite good; very raw, straight-forward, and transparent! I thought the tone was great too! D.I. recording using analog gear is a different animal than D.I recording with amp sim's and modelers. I'm sure Mesa helped the recording along with some high quality converters and what not but that is certainly no crime.![]()

If you purchased one and didn't like any of the stock cab sims, couldn't you use the line-out signal from the back of the cab clone into your interface and use an IR of your choice?
Sure you can, but if you're going to do that you might as well get a $40 Behringer GI100 or a used H&K redbox.
They don't act as loadboxes. Hell, even the Redbox says to use a load.

If you don't mind cranking the .... out of your amp these will work, but if you need complete silence, they're a no-go.
any amp will workSo, would a wimpy 1 watt power amplifier like the Engl's e530 drive the Cabclone enough to get any sort of sound? Or would it take near 100 watts for it to work properly?
