I'm gonna abstain cheating with the axe fx and do a real one although I sold the preamp since:

Esp Viper (EMGs) ->mesa studio preamp->mesa 20:20->Reverb (was using Gmajor 2 at the time).

Can get pretty much all 80es tones this way includign some seriously high powered thrash/death metal.

I use a good amount of stuff in the signal chain, but, bare bones, I'd need my Torero w/EMG's-> Boss NS-2 ->Multi-Watt Recto and Recto Cab (one would do, but I have two :metal:)

I'm cheating.....sorta.

Carvin DC727 (mahogany, active EQ section) into POD Farm via a Guitar Port into some vintage Wharfedale speakers via a Denon power amp -I can get pretty close to the tones in my head whenever I deign to pick up a guitar with a minimal amount of fuss.

Non cheating?

Carvin DC200 - Marshall Guvnor (original) - Marshall JCM900.

I'd like to see more of the modeler folks specify an amp model.

Mine:
Schecter Scorpion>GSP1101 (Amp driver>Supergroup model>Redwirez Ubercab IR)

I'm not counting the parametric EQ or compressor as effects. :fawk:

Things it would hurt to give up:

The rest of my guitars
The Sansamp RBI I have on no matter the amp model
Chorus
Delay
Wah
The OR120, JCM800, JCM2000, AC 15 and RG100 models

Ok!

I use a 50/50 blend of a Marshall Jubilee and a Herbert for the lead tones, current rhythm tones are a Big Bottom with some judicious EQ....I haven't settled on a cab/mic combi just yet.

For my "jazz" tone i just plug my guitar into my amp, with the tone knob all the way down on the neck pickup. The my amp is set flat and has a jazz amp emulator which i use. I might have a delay pedal.

Fender Strat --> Mxr Carbon Copy --> Fender Superchamp

For my "Rock" tone, it's hard to choose just one pedal. It would either be my distortion or compressor. My compressor acts as a boost with compression to give my sound/tone more attitude while my distortion is set so it sounds really round when i pluck a note. Combined they give me a really defined lead tone.

Fender Strat --> Way Huge Fat Sandwich or MXR Custom Comp --> Fender SuperChamp
