The jack on your guitar is an OUTPUT jack not an INPUT jack. The signal is being sent out of the jack. The fact the the plug is being inserted INTO the guitar does not make it an input jack.

I don't know what made me want to type this, but I did...

Ha, lol!!! I thought it may have been misspelled. I'm surprised my spell check didn't pick that up either. In my defense I was about to go to sleep after having been up for 24 hours straight.

It's called an input jack because the cable is "put-in" to it. My 2 cents.

Just call it a "jack." As far as I know, guitars don't typically have multiple kinds of jacks with respect to input and output, so there is no need to make a distinction.

If that were the case then all jacks would be 'input' jacks. Even XLR... There is always something getting plugged into something else. The direction of the signal determines whether it is in input or an output jack.
