Hi guys, this is my first FS thread on here so here's hoping I'm doing it right and all goes to plan!

I'm regretfully selling my custom 8-string ONI to fund another custom 7-string ONI that I'll actually play instead of having it sitting in it's case 24/7. $2200 AUD asking price (worth $4500 AUD new) barely played still in perfect condition, probably has about 20-25 hours of total play time on it. It is about 3 years old now but honestly has barely been played, I just haven't had much of a use for it when I'm playing 6 and 7's all the time.

I can make some test clips if anyone wants to hear it in action. It's a very bright sounding guitar (great if you want to get that "djenty" kinda tone, but hard to tame if you don't know what you're doing! I'm sure most of you do anyway ;))

Also, there is one TIIIIINY needle thin scratch on the body veneer. Will take a photo ASAP and post up. It's almost unnoticable and transparent, however.

Specs:
- Rock Maple body and neck
- Ibanez Wizard I style neck profile, quite a flat fretboard too
- Flame Maple body and headstock veneers w/ walnut stripe down the middle
- Ebony fretboard
- Custom hand-wound ONI 8-string humbuckers in EMG casings with ebony veneers
- 28.75" scale (or 28.25" I can't remember, I can re-measure if you need me to)
- 5-way Ibanez style pickup selector
- 1 volume knob
- Fixed Hipshot 8-string bridge
- Black hardware (and black straplocks included)

Modifications:
No modifications. Comes as is, just as the day I received it. I have just set it up too and only played 1-2 hours since doing so, so it has fresh strings (9-46, 60, 80), gave her a fret dress and polish as well.

Accessories:
- Hard case
- x4 .80 gauge strings for the low F# (will go down to E no problems with the .80, currently it is in half step down tuning to F)

Location (City,State or City,Country):
Wyong, Australia (1 hour from Sydney)

International:
Will ship almost anywhere, but you are responsible for all shipping costs, etc.

Contact Info:

Price:
$2200 AUD. I already have 2 people who've offered this but I figured I'd put it on here first as I know people are on the scout for ONI's, especially at this price.

Buyer is to pay all shipping, taxes, duties, courier charges, whatever else that may come with transporting the guitar to yourself.

Feel free to ask me any questions. Will not budge on the price, minimum $2200 as this will be the deposit for my ONI 7.

Cheers guys!

Scott :hbang:

Almost fell out of my chair. Holy :poop:

This, however, is EPIC FAIL:

Will not accept international buyers, only Australian/local.

Let me know if you change your mind on that, and you'll have a US buyer. You know you want it to be in good Oni company.

We do not allow auction style bidding on here - take it to eBay for the auction. You've stated a price and that's all that's needed.

I know I didn't see that when I PM'd him. I just saw "Oni 8" and dropped everything to get on it! I've got a cousin that lives close so I'm trying to coordinate with him, and then have him bring it here when he visits....

Next in line if you allow international. C'mon, you know you want to supply the first ONI in the uk!! That's a dream guitar right there!

Okay, so I have changed my mind. I will ship anywhere just about, but the buyer must cover all shipping, courier and taxes. I would assume it would be VERY expensive too, you're looking at a box about 40+ inches long. It won't be cheap!

I've never actually shipped overseas either, so when I choose a buyer (there's been about 15 people so far in 2 days, pretty overwhelming!!!) if they can help me out with that, that would be awesome!

Good luck dudes :)

My memory is shaky on this, but i recall shipping a huge gator case with my 8 string Oni in it from AUS to Detroit was $200 but once i recieved it, I had to pay an additional $130 in customs or so.

$350 from AUS to US should cover it, for US buyers wondering. That was in December of 2007 though, may be different now...

Yeah the dicey part is the length of the package (that's what she said). Under 36" is relatively cheap. Over 46" and I can't find any shipper to take it.

Here's a question, though: if my cousin brings it from Aus to me here in the US, does it avoid customs?

Your price is pretty low man, just IMHO. If you're putting the funds towards a new Oni, you might want to ask a little more as the guitar is worth way more and would help you get more of your order paid off. Dan makes amazing instruments!

Yeah I'm starting to think it's quite low, but I've had offers well over that now from many of the people on here, I just want it to go to a good home. The money will go straight back into another ONI anyway so I'm just happy if someone plays it more than I ever did hey.

What references do I need to post? I haven't done this before!

Good deal, I just didn't want to see someone take advantage of you, especially when the funds would be going back to Dan too. :yesway:

Although i never measured it in the case, the guitar alone had a 29.2" length on the lowest string. Then add in the length of the headstock and a portion of the body. Then put that into a bass sized gator case, the thing was huge and like I said $350 total to US east coast.

Special note: I really regret selling my Oni :wallbash:

It's been sold! Thank you to everyone who enquired and those who offered very very very delicious trades, but I could not trade as I need the money for my next Oni + some recording upgrades for my business.

Best of luck with purchases in the future dudes :)

WTF? I PMd you first, you told me you needed a local person, I told you i could have my cousin get it. I emailed you consistently, trying to get this to be an easy thing for you, because you didn't want to deal with all the shipping hassles. What, did they offer more and you didn't want to mention it to me to see if I'd match it? You know you're not supposed to run an auction on here. And if you didn't want to sell it to me the LEAST you could have done is respond to the emails I sent today, telling you I was coordinating with my cousin to take shipment and get it off to me. I just wasted a bunch of time today trying to coordinate this because of what you said.
