I went ahead and started my own business
It's called Oni Guitars, there are 3 instruments confirmed including my 8 and Gojira's V.
Thanks to Gojira for the name and the massive amount of assistance.
Expect a website very soon. The focus of Oni is extended range guitars, so 7 or more strings, fretless, that kind of thing.
We'll see how things go, I suppose

Well, so far there's my 8-string design, which will likely be the basis of the 7, slightly altered to suit.
There's a couple of other ideas floating around too, contact me directly for more info.

I like the way you think I'd just have to make sure to add a Tremol-no.

And that 7-string with the fretless low-B is sweet. Though I'd probably go with all of the strings being fretted up to a certain point (13th fret on the low-B, 7th fret on the high-E, and the rest somewhere between that) and fretless at the high end of the neck.

It wouldn't be something I'd use all the time, or even buy right now. It's an "if-I-had-more-money-and-guitars-than-I-knew-what-to-do-with" idea

Well, I won't do Strat copies per se, but pickup configuration, and tone-wise, that's actually something I'm looking into right now.
I'd like to supply Tremol-No's with trem equipped guitars as standard, I should talk to Kevan about that. And the Floyd, not a problem.

fretless low b looks like it dosent even have a fucking fretboard beind it either???? so you get ONE extra string and ONE lower note well aint that just "special"

is there a fretboard behind it?

Either it's a drone string or there's a bit of ebony(or other dark wood) there for it.

There doesn't appear to be anything under that string, same concept as the old harp guitars.
