That''s very sexy and also making me want to get a real job to be able to buy a fanned fret 8. This year I hope lol, damned post-graduation bummage must end!

Long story short, I've been quite sick for a while, but better now. Best I can do right now is the purple thing. The bass is with it's owner, but I'll be getting it back for pics some time. Lots of catch up to do.

Man,that 'purple thing' is well nice:yesway:
Have you built anything like that in a 7 Dan or are they all 8's+? I just don't think i could cope with 8 strings but i'd really love to try a fanned-fret 7.
I like the slightly more traditional body shape in particular on this guitar. Its made from Purpleheart is it ?

Do you still get the bobbin face-plates machined yourself and then send them to Bareknuckles or what ?

All of your work looks fantastic! Quality stuff:metal:

No problems doing 7's, the lacewood/pau ferro one is a seven. Yes, that one is purpleheart, the stripes are maple, I just put them there to break up the purple a bit.
Yeah, I have the pickup parts machined locally and Tim winds them. The design is now a little more refined and tidy. I'm hoping to be able to get a small CNC mill some time soon to put that in more in my control. All depends on the money situation as usual
Tim's reaction to the coils is kind of funny. He likens it to sitting with his nose next to a helicopter blade. I'm told nothing above 9 strings

Outstanding work, Dan:yesway:
I`ll bet that one was fun to final sand:wallbash:. I`m finishing a purple heart and katalox bass at the moment, and I feel like I`ve been sanding my life away:nuts:

Goddam that's a beauty!
I absolutely love your tasteful & elegant body designs. Very smooth lines & contours.

Glad you're feeling better :yesway:

And please do post some pics of that awesome bass when you've got the time!

It's 680mm->740mm scale, which is roughly 26.8"->29.2". Because of the compact headstock design the long scale Oni's like this one fit in standard RG/Soloist cases :yesway:

Thanks again to everyone for the kind comments. I'll be experimenting a little with the neck profile on this one - it's my own personal instrument.

Mike, I don't really want to talk about the sanding, let's just say my therapist is helping me through it :D

It was impressive work BEFORE I read that. Excellent job. :yesway:
