:hbang: After months of drooling and getting my finances straight...

With the help of  Eric (tha man) I will be putting a down payment on a UV777BK this month, actually this week if everything goes as planned. :yesway:

Eric is indeed the man and has helped me out so much on this deal. I will buy from him and only him from now on provided he deals with the gear I'm looking for at the time. Thanks to him, I will now pwn you all!!!

Well, that's not the actual one I'll be buying. Just a random picture I found. I'm ordering a brand new one. :metal:

I was thinking a brushed aluminum or polished aluminup pickguard would be hot on those things...

...course, they ARE pretty damn hot anyway. Cheers dude. :yesway:

or, if you hate your audiences, you can get a mirror pickguard like Vai :)

I have thought about a real metal pickguard but I'm worried about what that might do to the tone???

apparently, aluminum has great tonal properties.

Either way, you figure it can't be any worse than plastic.

One of my personal guitars, a 570 with ubermojo, has an aluminum pickguard. I have to say that I love the sound with the TZ/AN in it and that it seems a bit different than other with the sameish specs, actually. I didn't think it would make any difference but it seems to have added very controllable feedback at lower volumes than without it. Strange but true. :spock:

I've been on the receiving end of one of those, it's no fun! Stupid musicman bass!

there's a place listed off jemsite that's done aluminium pickups for UV777bk's before, located in the US - for shipping alone, they're worth looking into.
