Hey, I just got back from my week long trip to New York to find out that Kelly Carpenter has left Outworld. I was also shocked to find no thread about it here.

Huh, that's news to me.

Pity, even though his vocals weren't my cup of tea, he did have a voice that fit the Outworld-style of music very well. I wonder why he left--I mean, there's plenty of hype surrounding the debut release of Outworld, it's not like they weren't getting anywhere

Just caught the last show on the Spread Eagle tour at Don Hill's in NYC.

Unbelievable!

I didn't know what to expect but boy did this band deliver.

2 of my fav players onstage at the same time, very cool.

Johnnymac's drum solo was one of the best I have ever seen.

Anyone else catch shows on this tour?

I always thought the singer was the weakest point in the band. Maybe now they'll own hard \m/

I didn't care for his vocals in the Outworld clips I've seen. I think they'd be a killer band with a melodic singer.

He was a great singer but man, he sang WAYYY too much and it was more annoying than LaBrie.

Agreed. IMO he was a bit too 'cheesy powermetal', the sound of the band would benefit froma more diverse vocal style. The music (the album clips I've hear) is seriously kicking ass though! :hbang:

wow!! I loved kelly's vocals he got it up there and he was a promotion machine man too!! he believed in what the band was all about .What is the official reasons for leaving the band? this situation is like a friend who dumps his girlfriend then all his other friends say "she was not that hot anyway"...maybe fans waited too long to tell OUTWORLD....are they holding auditions or attempting to get someone else right away?

I think this could be a good change for outworld, because they are a heavy, melodic band. They should have a heavy, yet melodic singer. Someone with a voice a bit deeper could change the music entirely.:yesway:

+1

Get them with a singer that rips and is a bit mainstream, and I think they could do really well. I dig the hell out of the songwriting.
