I remember reading about this years back on Jemsite but apparently a Tone Zone 7 and Air Norton 7... I just fathom how he got the TZ7 to sound like that compared to how :poop: it sounded when I tried it.

yeah, I don't understand it either, and it isn't just you. The TZ7 sounds like pure doodoo.

He should do that with an 8 so he has 5 'normal' strings. Or a nine...

Actually Agile Intrepid 925 MN Nat w/Case at RondoMusic.com would be awesome for that.

I also tried a similar tuning that was a compromise of an octave twiddly tuning and a tuning that can be used for regular playing on my 6 string. It was Bb F Bb F Bb F.

*Obligatory he's great/ I will never attain such levels of awesomeness comment*

It probably has just the DiMarzio's "Custom 7". He said it's a stock one. Plus... he's a real guitar and pickup geek, so he would have probably noted that it had other pickups.

Ok maybe I'm an idiot.... What is the guitar tuned to?

From top to bottom I got E4, B3, G3, D3, A2..... Right? Then what? A1 and A0???? Not possible methinks....

Anywhere but here.
^^
Would make sense, as he plays get off m lawn with 3 octaves of E no?

Could just as easily be 3 octaves of A though ,that seems more useful (as you have like the bottom 5 then 2 more A's. ) A3 A2 A1 maybe?

Either way, it is awesome.

I'm currently playing my guitar, and it's down a step. Just for shits I played the open strings along with him, expecting it to be way off, and was like

It is a pretty odd tuning. going from the 4th to the 5th string he's actually going up in pitch.

But his idea of playing those arpeggios in octaves translates perfectly on the three D strings, he just plays a triad shape on each string and repeats it on the next two strings.
That is actually a brilliant idea, IMO. Gilbert's da man in my book!:yesway:

That is very cool, I love seeing different tunings that make you think and play differently. And PG is just insane.
