Wow. Back in 1948, Ibanez was pronounced "Ibaniyezu" instead of "Aibaniizu" like it is today.

If I remember they originally picked the name because people in the US didn't think stuff made in Japan was half-decent.

I think Naren is talking about the phonetic Japanese pronunciation.

Ibanez never have other name Coz Hoshine first time was just import Spanish guitars "Salvador Ibanez" in the Japan then they buy a petent to produce it...And when Salvador Ibanez was died his guitar factory was ruined...and Hoshino was only who produce this guitars but they renamed it in "Ibanez"

I reading Ibanez history now :D
