Pickup suggestion for damien 7fr

ive got a damien 7 fr..like all my guitars im looking to upgrade the pups.. so far i have used dimarzios almost exclusively.. how different would blackouts be from passive pups? and if i had to go with a dimarzio... which one would give me a tone similar to meshuggah/textures/tesseract kind of tone?? i cant afford the lundgrens and bkps

also if anyone could tell me the size of the pups on this guitar it would be a great help

Blackouts are supposed to be the closest sounding thing to a passive pickup when it comes to actives, along with the X-Series EMGs, apparently. Might sound a bit different, though. Maybe someone who's used them can give you a better comparison.

As for the passives, I know you tried DiMarzios already, but the D-Activator is probably your best bet.
