here in the near future, I plan to get a new amp.
I'm really into rack gear.
I used to run an ISP Theta into some cheap Samson Power amp.
I'm also wanting to get into recording.
The X3 Pro really interests me for the fact that it has multiple guitar/ mic inputs.
And the versatilty for recording guitar, acoustic, bass, and vocals is what catches my attention.
After buying this, it would be awhile before buying a power amp.
I'm not currently in a gigging band, but about to join one that plays a few shows a month.
I know that I could just run this through the PA, correct?
And until getting a power amp for myself, I could run this through my computers speakers.

Now, is this good for recording?
I basically ask if anyone has experience.
The type of music I play is BTBAM like metal, with some djent influences.
And here recently have become more into acoustic like William Fitzsimmons, and City and Colour.

TL;DR-
I want to get into recording.
the POD X3 PRO interests me.
Could I play this through my computer speakers until getting a good power amp.
And how would I use this playing shows?

Thanks.

The answer to all of your questions except the last one is 'yes'. As for how would you use it playing shows, that just goes back to your 'can I play this through the PA' question, which the answer to is 'yes'. If you're playing a smaller show with questionable / no PA, just see if one of the guys in another band will let you borrow his amp / cab, and you can run the output of your X3 into the FX return on his amp.
