i did some research on mr robinson,
pretty damn great!
the basic video helped alot, now i have to source some shell and a decent saw.....


and he does have quite a pony tail goin on there :lol:

I don't want to hijack this thread - maybe we should start a general inlay techniques thread now that we have cool new Luthiery section?

I can post some advice on sawframes, blades, where to get shell, etc.

well. part of it cracked off while i was playing so there was a gap so i just got pliers...(and soldering iron) and pulled away. for the fretboard i used a laundry iron with steam setting as a heat gun.

:ugh: Wow, I'm suprised that the combination of heat and steam didn't also loosen the glue beneath the fretboard itself.
