Push-pull pot knob question

Hi guys, been lurking for a while and decided to join 'cause I really need an answer to this question. Sorry if the answer is obvious but I haven't been able to find it anywhere.

So here's the question:

Do push-pull pots require some sort of special knob or can i replace an old one (rusty and worn) with any regular knob that comes on a guitar without a push-pull.

I'd like to know because I'm considering buying a guitar with coil taps with a knob I'd like to replace. Thanks in advance.

There are several different size and type of potentiometer shaft, so theres no way to really tell at a glance without pulling the knob off.

Also, try to get a Knob that attaches with a screw...

Any knob that fits physically and attaches with a screw will work fine
