Hey all

I'm looking to replace the EMG's in my Schecter Hellraiser with some Duncans. I much prefer the sound of passive pickups, but it appears that the spacing of the pole pieces on the Duncans won't necessarily match up with the spacings of the strings. So with that in mind:

1) Is this the case, and if so, is there a way around it?

2) What sort of effect will it have on the pickup response?

Any help would be great.

Your problem is going to be with big spaces around the pickups in the route due to the oversized EMG routes. You wont have any issue with string alignment.

If you do decide to change pickups, I recommend that you try a Duncan Custom in the bridge. Lots of people have changed the bridge pickup in their Blackjacks(me included) to Duncan Custom. Blackjacks are very similar to Hellraisers, I think that the guitars are identical apart from the neck. And the duncan custom sounds awesome!
