IF you can find one, the K7 had a bit chunkier neck than my other Ibanez 7s.(Universe, RG1527, RG752m)

Is that the guy in Ottawa selling an RG752 for $5k because it's the "rare Axe Palace edition"? Good news! He's put some of them on sale!
It's one more situation of a fellow who has to put his guitars for sale because of his ladyboss, but doesn't want to sell them...I about had a heart attack reading this because I have an RG752 for sale in Ottawa lol.
Butt yeah, I know the guy you're talking about. I can't imagine makes any sales with his sky high prices. This market is slow already...
Right you are! Yeah, the RGD2127 has the Edge Zero. The Zero II was the cheaper one without the built-in intonation tool.I do enjoy my RGD2127 very much, it has the Edge Zero (not the 2 fyi).
The neck isn't as thin as the 00s models but it's still shreddy.
I would agree with that, same with the mid to late 2000's 7321's I've had. It's not a gigantic difference but it's noticeable.I think the old RG7620/7420 all maple necks are thicker than later RGs, by a couple millimeters. Mine feels thicker than my 7421 with the walnut strip, or my 2027XL.
I think it was more of the profile than the thickness, like it was too D shaped or something for my tastes.
"double thick neck" is the descriptor you're looking for
That's a pretty cool recommendation. AX has a very distinct alt-00's vibe to it. However, need to keep in mind that it's 22 fret, 24,75" scale and has a bit of neck dive - if that's of any concern.Pretty much any J.Custom RG7, if you're not too picky as far as color and top quality you can find "used Prestige-esque" deals.
There's the AX7521, but on top of being on the rarer side you'll also have to sift through literally 68,975,889,658 AX7221 ads to find one.
That said, I cannot recommend enough Vola OZ7 guitars. Have thicker neck and way better build quality. Ask Catpick Studios guy for reference in Finland.Well, this has got to be the most SSO-compatible thread I've ever made.
The thing is this; I used to have an Ibanez 1527. Loved the feel of it but my thumb always got sore behind the neck. It was too slim. Same happened with an RGD-2127.
Would there be an Ibanez 7-string you would recommend with a different, a bit fatter neck profile?
I really wanted to love both of those Ibanezes I owned, but the neck shape just wasn't for me.
Thanks for all advice and input!
Vola is a good call. If the RG/RGD shape is super important, the OZ does feel quite a bit different to me (not in a bad way, just different), but it's a similar concept with a chunky neck. Love mine OZ, it's my all-rounder guitar. That's a pretty cool recommendation. AX has a very distinct alt-00's vibe to it. However, need to keep in mind that it's 22 fret, 24,75" scale and has a bit of neck dive - if that's of any concern.

Another thing that comes to mind, if you're absolutely chasing "Prestige" stamp, is AZ7 Prestige guitars. These got thicker C necks.
