I'm trying to record on my sevenstring. But I can't seem to get the same clarity that people like Kieth Merrow get. How do you get the clarity on the recording while keeping the absolute brutality of a metal distortion?
I'm using Audacity, a mixer running an rc cable (for like an iPod to play out of a stereo) into the mic input of my computer, a marshall mg50fx which is mic'd with a mxl 991 pencil microphone sent to said mixer. The guitar is a Washburn WG587, everything is stock, but I also want to record on my 6 string jackson RR3. What do you recomend?
