Alright, other than some RAM issues (my computer doesn't like running multiple instances of some VST's, I am not unable to adequately record vocals.

Line 6 X3 Live
Shure SM 58
Low-Z Mic cable

If I plug it into the X3L I can only hear the output if I jack up the master volume. This, unfortunately, blows my ears out if the rest of the music is also played back. If I turn the the levels to what I use for guitar, you cannot hear any vocals even if I am screaming at the top of my lungs.

Any ideas? I had the volume pedal at 100 and the tone volume at max. Is there a mic mode?

Alright, got an answer from Line6. Next to the cable input for the mic there is a "trim" knob which more or less is a level/volume knob for the mic. I had never heard "trim" before so I didn't even think of messing with it.

All better now!
