Red cedar in guitar neck?

Hey guys,

I have a real nice piece of quarter sawn red cedar and i'd love to use it as a neck laminate, but i've seen no information on whether or not it'd be suitable.

Anyone have any insight?

Cedar is one of the softest and most flexable woods there are. I wouldnt use it in a neck.
