Hi to all of u mad sevenstringers...I've got a question that hit my mind every day...I've got an Ibanez RG7420, bought here in Italy in a music store in my town 2 years ago but it's a 2002 model.
The standardt colors for 2002 models are MC (magenta crush) and CB (cosmic blue) but mine has a color that i never find in other Ibanez 7 string model but only in a Custom Shop Model that Korn guitarist Munky used a couple of years ago and looks like a metallic deep purple. As soon as I can I will add a picture. The guitar is totally original and obviously never repainted...What the hell is going on? please help me!:scream:

thanks to all of u!

cosmic blue comes out pretty purplish when you see it in person. the 2003 model of the rg1527 was cosmic blue. but it was pretty purplish. maybe that answers your question?

mm no...i'm totally sure it's a 7420. V77 and V87 pickups, trs7 trem. And color don't match the pic u posted before..it's more purple...it's so strange..i've paid for it only 450 euro when list price was 800 € and it was totally new..it came with all plastic protections and case...probably a factory mistake? no "custom" or J.custom inlays on it...It a mistery...

Erm don't you need 15 posts before you can post pictures though?

15 posts here isn't exactly hard dude. And it's 15 to link images, anyone can attach them.

That is indeed an RG7420. The square pickup "ear" routes and Lo-TRS trem confirm that. I've never seen one in that colour before though.

and this is the serial number..it's made in japan "F0101653"

IIRC, that 01 after the F would mean it's a 2001 model, not a 2002.
