you are a cruel cruel man to let someone think of picking just one. the RG is just plain gorgeous and is second to none in classiness. that being said nothing will turn heads faster than an MC!

For build quality/playability the 8127VV wins hands down. You're talking about hand finish work versus a factory run guitar. Granted the swirls on the UVMC were done by hand, but everything else was mass produced.

In the appearance category it would depend on which UVMC you're alking about, as IMHO 90% of them look like ass with the other 10% being some of the coolest guitars on earth

UVMC's are hot guitars, but I cant think of anything from Ibanez that plays better than "the right" JC 7. If at all possible make sure you play it first, because there does seem to be differences even between two of the same JC models. Eyeball the frets, fret ends, edges of fingerboard etc.

thank you, that is all I needed to know... reason being I have a brand new 8127VV coming this way in the mail, but someone posted an ad wanting to trade an excellent condition UVMC for a "j custom 7 with a sweet maple top", I was contemplating making an offer, but I think I want to the JC...

I like THIS UV77MC and always have, I naturally would pick a UV as both of mine are my main players, I definitely would pick an RG 8127 over my 7620s even though I love the 7620. Hard choice.
