Jumbo frets

its a lil too rounded for my liking,
but it has some nice timber in it!

the screws holding the bridge down are too big?
and the ferrules are pretty off centre, what happened there? :ugh:

that bareknuckle looks cool!

heres 1 vote for seeeing the making of pics.... always interesting to see other peoples methods/processes :)

nice work :yesway:

Very nice!
Nicely crafted and well done... Really beautiful...
Now to the "tastes" subject:

I didn't like the body that much. I like more aggressive lines...
That pickup didn't LOOK too good with that wood top for me... Idk

Congrats! :yesway:

If you also want to see some "making" of pics... just tell me ;)

YES please! I think all of us would like to see it... I personally love people's different approaches for the same product.

Good job man. Was there any particular reason behind the unusual alignment of the string thru holes on the back of the guitar?

Yea that's really noticeable. But other than that it looks totally badass.

thanks for all your replies!
I´ll upload the making-of pics soon!

because of the ferrule-placement on the back:
when I drilled the holes for the ferrules 2 (!!!) of the drills CRACKED inside of the wood, so I had no chance to get them out again. Thats why I had to drill the holes "around" the cracked drills. (I hope drill is the right word for that..)
beside that... the holes in the bridge are not in one line, the holes are somehow offsetted!

Thanks for the critic!

bye

Pretty. I'm going to agree about the curviness looking a bit off, though. It just looks slightly out of place on a guitar with a design that's otherwise pretty aggressive looking.

i assume you were drilling with a hand drill,

the method for that is you drill the two outer string holes from the front of the body with the bridge in place, drill all the way through the body trying to keep the drill as straight as possible....

then flip to the back of the guitar and draw a line between the two holes you just drilled....

then figure out the spacing of the rest of the holes... mark them so they are evenly spaced between the holes you drilled.... and drill each one from the back of the guitar going halfway through the body...

flip the guitar over and drill the rest of the holes to meet the other in the centre of the body....

they should meet unless your drilling really crooked,

if thats the case and they dont meet you can use a larger bit and drill half way through the body from the front....

hopefully that makes sence lol.. :)

That's really nice for a 2nd build! The wood you used is spectacular. Body shape isn't completely my thing, but that's only personal!

Only thing to ask is whether the headstock is strong enough as there's no volute to reinforce against the angle...? Also with the ferrules, hey, if a problem happened and you got round it then that's cool! :D

Anyway, it's a really individual instrument and it definitely looks like a lot of thought went in to it. :yesway:

That looks awesome. The wood that you used looks killers, and i happen to find the shape of the guitar very subtle and cool.

haha seems like nobody is interested anymore :p

I feel the same with my 6 string thread (see my sig)

But hell no. I'm interested. I know the work you've put into this thing!

And into the questions!

1- Did you route the neck pocket with a hammer and chisel???

2- How was the fretting procedure? (cut a piece, hammer into the pre-slotted socket, dremel the excess?)

3- Did you buy a neck blank?

4- How did you install the binding? Glue?

Great job, again! good work!

:yesway:
