Hello! Earlier this year I built this seven string and tried to take pics as I went along. I don't have every step, and it starts out about halfway through the build, but I still wanted to post something to show here. I've learned much about guitar building from this site, and I still have a long way to go as this is my 4th or so guitar and it's still pretty rough, lol.
Specs:
-25.5" Scale
-Medium frets (wish I had done jumbo)
-Maple fingerboard
-5 piece maple and oak through body neck
-Poplar wings
-Pickups from Guitar Heads
-Bridge from Guitar Heads
-Tuners from Guitar Heads
-Ebony stain with wipe on poly finish
If you have any questions about the build let me know! Next time I decide to build a guitar I will try to document the entire process
Glued up and shape cut out
Pickup cavities and recess bridge
Maple fretboard
I used a piece of metal to clamp down when gluing the neck, and that where the black came from. I figured it would be covered anyway by the fretboard.
Cutting frets. Used a saw from harbor freight for this.
