Hey guys,

Could you throw some ideas at me for a 7 string guitar that is a 25 inch scale length? I picked up an 828 a ways back which was way too much for my itty bitty baby hands to handle. I have a disgustingly small span.

Around $500? I really don't know where to look. Also, a fret board that isn't disgustingly wide would be lovely too.. Crazy? Maybe.

Those are 25.5 though. Also the epi LP and V are 24.75. You could find those used cheap. The ARZ307 is a nice guitar though

Ibanez AX7521, Mahogany body, 24.75 scale on the neck, made in japan and relatively inexpensive. Snagged mine off ebay for $280 shipped :yesway:

ARZ307 is a really nice guitar for the price right now. Mine was damn good stock, even including the pickups.

The warmoth 7 is 25" and they offer some nice options. Maybe a bit pricy though?

Their prices are pretty good for what they are, but you won't get a whole guitar for $500 from them. I think the cheapest way to put one together would be more like $800.

IMO the Ibby ARZ307 is pretty meh. I compared it to the RGD7321 and ditched both for a Schecter Damien-7 FR. Unfortunately the shipping will take a few months due to backorder. :sigh:

I think the scale of the ARZ307 is actually 25.0" like PRS not 25.5".

It won't make much of a difference though. You probably just need a singlecut guitar that hangs differently, it will make the whole fretboard and picking area seem 2" shorter.

I'm not a single cut guy, what can I say? ;)

And the 7321 killed my left hand still since the shoulders were really rounded for me...

I have teeny-tiny hands also and I play Schecter 7 strings pretty easily. The fatter-rounder necks make it possible for me to play them.

Those Ibanezes like the 7321 have those 2x4 shaped square necks which kill your wrist.

I say try a Schecter a try and see if you can do it.

I've never really liked Les Pauls until I got my Epi LP7...after giving it a chance I really dig it! I don't have big hands or mad stretching skills so the short scale length and like floppystrings says..the way it hangs makes the guitar really comfortable despite the weight and fat neck.. I'm looking for an AX7521 now..

Isn't the 828 a 28" scale? It seems a bit drastic to me to go to shorter scale guitars because of that.

25.5 will give you so many more options, and the .5 can't make any real difference except sounding a bit tighter and clearer.
