Edit: was meaning to post this 5 string in another thread, but I guess I'll leave it here anyways

... are those guitar strings? Interesting approach for a baritone guitar...

... now let's focus in the following pic:

This fret job required an enormous amount of time, as it feels regular along all the frets, This isn't fret wear due to bends and hard picking, this is something else, I'm not sure what though. Any one care to guess why these frets are like this, what's the purpose of it?

... maybe this was a 6 to 5 string conversion and those are indeed string grooves (can't see the nut)? Hell, who is the monster that grooves every single fret like that?...

It almost looks like the frets are scalloped so there is only a small point of contact when fretting a note. Or 5 strings like you said... What a weird picture lol

It would be interesting to see the nut as well and the rest of the guitar.

If we analise with a bit more attention to details.

1) The gunk generally accumulates where the fingers don't reach often and seeing things like that I'm pretty inclined to the 6 to 5 strings conversion. That, however, doesn't justify per se those regular grooves on the frets... wtf?...
2) Looking at the blurred headstock, it kind of seams to be missing a tuner at the right, right? Or is it just me imagining things?
