I believe he has said that he prefers to travel with the DeLap guitar because it is headless, and therefore smaller. Plus, I'm guessing he just likes it better. I've seen him in concert several times in the last ten years or so, and he's used the DeLap every time. He's recorded with the Carvin and used it occasionally in concert, though. I thought he was supposed to be working on a new headless model with Carvin, but maybe that fell through.
