No, just no. Its not pitch shifted. They tune an entire octave below E standard on 8 string guitars.

Oh ok I gotcha, yeah the album version actually sounds like it has a different mix, I dont know about pitch shifting. I actually think that intro bass line sounds alot more clearer then the album version that I have. Then again, it could be my shitty $10 walmart special speakers.
