What's that tiny guitar Vai has?

From Steve's webpage:

DeMini Miniature Electric Guitar No Serial Number Steve's DeMini guitar. This guitar was used in Alcatrazz and especially on the song "Painted Lover". It's just a little more than two feet long. Isn't it cute?

Whoa... I r tardy to the party. Vai and Yngwie were both in Alcatrazz? Oooooh right! Vai replaced Yngwie didn't he? I think I remember hearing a story about that and he said the first show no one clapped for him bc he wasn't Yngwie or something like that.

EDIT: Call me a weirdo, but the singer is kinda lookin' like a boss in that video haha

Vai did more with a ukulele sized guitar back then then people today do with 8 string guitars.

I'm not sure why the addition of strings implies that you should be constantly setting musical precedents, but I *think* I see what you mean.

That mini guitar is still in his studio. If ya watch the vids, you can see it on the wall to the right side of his rig. It's on the upper left part of the wall.

I love everything he does, he is just a funny and cool guy with lots of knowledge. The DNA with the blood in it, so epic.

Stoked to see the Red Witch pedals there, I just bought a Titan a few days ago and it's unreal. Also, does anyone think Steve Vai kind of resembles Charlie Sheen from time to time throughout this video? You know, minus the cocaine and porn stars.

Kick ass interview. he gave some great in depth answers. I especially liked the monologue in his string answer.

Also, "You'll give yourself a hernia pressing all the buttons" regarding the Axe Fx.
