it has a really good base sound, but i would ease off the compression, and work with the snare EQ a bit. right now you only hear the impact of the crack, but not the body ringing through, ya know?

you´re definitely heading the right way with it! a great way to learn is to listen to a good pro recording, and really study the specifics of the sound, while ignoring the actual material. then compare to the specifics of your own recording to see what´s missing/excessive. i´ve made some really over-the-top super-compressed recordings with almost no low end and tons of high mids, so it sounds like a peaky mess. took lots of beating myself up over my recordings and tweaking like a nut to get to where i am. and i still have TONS of miles left to go before my recordings sound as good as i want them to. i have problems deciding on midi velocity versus kick drum eq, and i´m not very good with the cymbals. not only do i suck at writing cymbal parts (working hard with improving that), but i suck at EQing the overheads.

I was going for a Sybreedy sound with this guy, which is pretty much what i got, save for the face sybreed scoops their mix while i boost the mids in mine. Also, I like the snare crack effect :p

I think I fixed the mix a bit, backed the compression off, seems to be in order

I may back the snare off more though

I'm not a fan of the click-kick you've got going, but that's always been a personal opinion thing, and it seems like lately, I can't do much better. haha

anyway, this very good, and I can't wait to hear some vox on top of it.

Love the song man, Ive been a fan of your's for a while. But i have to say, the overcompression really kills me lol, but its just a preference thing, its not like im going to not listen to it when you finally get vox for it :p Because I can't wait!

Hahaha that synth had me bobbing my head sideways like a retard with the rythm...

Yeah, there's definitely something wrong (IMO) with the guitar tone. Don't know if it is the compression or if you pressed the extra djent button... But the song is fucking "oh yes my head just exploded" good

You got a godly basstone going on. love it.

Some real compression failure around 1.40. Drums and guitars should not sound quieter together than guitar alone IMO.

Thanks everyone! I'm going to be reuploading this soonish with a better mix with less compression. I have alot to do already, as I'm trying to get my album actually done, so I cannot say when it'll happen.

Hope you don't mind, i gave some lyrics a go over the top. Would love some opinions. Keep in mind, this is probably my first time actually recording my vocals with my current set up, before that i used the in built mic on my laptop >.>
