Sounds pretty damn heavy to me. The only thing I didn't like was the reverb on the snare. It sounds almost like a slap-back delay. I'd have the room size be bigger and have the decay go longer.

tracked with an Ibanez SG705
2 bass tracks one for bass the other for grind and distortionuse pod farm sans amp on the "bass" track
on the grind track i am actually using pod farm screamer and cali D plate model and filtering out everything below 500hz
of course the usual loads of compression and Eq but tone wise is basically all pod farm

The drums sit really nicely in your mix. Any pointers for achieving something similar?

Drums first off use good samples
here im actually using slate kick 10....i know gay but its the only slate sample i really care for
snare is blend of sturgis snare and a free snare from some place i found online actually.
cymbals are sturgis emerald pack

for me its really all Eq there is minimal compression on the drums actually
eq out low mids in the kick usually and any freq your really dont need, and i usually just throw reverb on the snare, toms and cymbals.
but overall i think good samples is half the battle honestly

if you want something more specific just ask

Also, love the Mars Volta reference in your SoundCloud user name.

This is basically the patch here dude, really nothing fancy when it comes to pod farm just do this and tweak the settings to taste
