I'm in the process of finding the perfect set of strings for my Ibanez RGA8 8-String guitar. Besides the obvious differences in ball size and string length, is there any construction difference between the super slinky bass strings and 8-string slinky guitar strings, namely the 0.64 and 0.74 gauge strings in the 8-string slinky set?

I would really like to use the 0.065 and 0.080 super slinky bass strings for the low strings on my 8-String, since I detune the low F# to an E. I currently have it strung with a set of heavy top skinny bottoms with 2 single bass strings from a brand who's name escapes me at the moment, but they don't seem to be nearly as nice as the super slinky strings I currently have on my Ibanez Iceman bass.

Any help would be appreciated!

You should go with D'addario, they do a .080 guitar string.
