Lots of good pr0n here. I like pretty much all explorer types expect kellys with the Pablo "extreme" cutouts.

Im quite the explorer fan. Here is a standard black Gibby I refinished to be a gold top, next is a Golden Axe (with the first explorer, pre refin), and finally, a work in progress by none other than RRR himself

This was my first E-shape and it won’t be my last, nor my last Solar. Was really surprised how comfortable they are to play sitting down and thanks to Hetfield, I don’t think there’s a cooler looking metal guitar (as long as it’s hung down to your knees)

(There’s some damage on the arm contour…..I stupidly used this as an example of “It doesn’t matter what it looks like as long as it plays good” along with a butcher knife one very drunken evening)

Here's mine! The only difference between now and when this was taken is I swapped the pickups for a JB/Jazz set with gold poles. The set works fine, but I'm always on the fence with this one about just throwing some EMG's in there and it being the designated "metal machine" guitar.

Spectacular.

Can you give us a ballpark on how much the refinish cost?

Ah ah . More details then ;)
I got a benton that I like a lot ( the natural one) but saw that one on reverb/marktplatz in the netherlands
Shape looks good. Brand is from tje netherlands but chinese made so I’m expecting something like epiphone qualitywise
There’s only one , it’s a prototype
Here’s a pic from the ad, should arrive here this week

I did it myself. The biggest cost was time. After that, whatever the rattlecans, wood filler, grain filler, mineral spirits, and various grades of sandpaper cost. It was definitely a learning experience. You're like a Jedi making his own lighsaber.

Looks insane. Like what you did with the control layout, too.
